Bright ideas keep popping into my head

Centred, Clear of Mind, and Hungry

Well, it has been more than a week without protein in the form of red meat, chicken or fish, and I must say that, whilst I do feel somewhat empty in the stomach, I do feel rather hungry as well.  Which sort of goes without saying I guess.  But the most important thing is that I feel very centred in my mind. It is as if all the heavy protein products like red meat, chicken and fish, were clogging up my mind and stopping me from thinking properly.

Ideas now seem to appear with acute clarity rather than being muddy and vague. I remember Continue reading »

Body Detox – Day 2

Tired… Not sure if its the two kids or the lack of the kick in the pants you get from coffee, but I feel like I am running on empty.

Part of the detox is no red meat, or eggs as they are supposed to weigh you system down. The detox aims to help clean out you bowel as well so I can see the reasoning behind it, but, meat is a great energy source and I think I am missing it.

7 Day Herbal Body Detox Program

Body Detox – Day 1

The first thing I noticed on the back of the little box of herbal tablets thrust into my hands was the NO CAFFEINE emblazoned across it in large letters. … SIGH … I responded impulsively, but it did no good. I was committed to a detox as per the stipulations haggled out during discussions between my wife and I.

So, this is the way it is to be, and this is what is going to happen. No coffee for a least a week. Continue reading »

I have a relative who has had quite a good innings so far. She is a lovely lady and I think the world of her. But recently her health has not been what it once was. The reason for this goes a long way back. It goes back almost 80 years in fact. The lady in question is my Nanna and you can see a photo of her cuddling her great grand son Elijah. She is a bit of an old battle axe, tough as nails, bought up in the country, the Snowy Mountains High Plains to be exact in a town call Benambra; nursing spring lambs born too soon in Winter, walking to school through a foot of snow (yes, we have snow in Australia), chopping wood for cooking, and basically living a life on the land till she moved to Melbourne 5 decades ago.

Well, back to the 5 cups of tea. She has always said that “she doesn’t like drinking water” and that “5 cups of tea a day are enough” for her and she doesn’t get thirsty. Well, this may have done her for 60 or 70 years and I wondered why because dehydration is something everyone can suffer from; everyone I use to think except her. Unfortunately though, when you start treading into your senior nineties, you body tends not to work as well as it did in you 20′s or 30′s. And now, she has kidney failure with only 7% kidney function. Continue reading »

Personal Trainer Belinda Evans will hold you accountable to achieve your fitness goals

Hot Fox Fitness

After having another session of with Belinda the Personal Trainer, I fared much better than the previously. After managing to stick out boot camp (which it isn’t really but that is what everyone refers to it as) I now get to target the areas most important to guys, just as my wife is now getting to target the ‘girly areas’.

Apparently it all boils down to regular exercise, which, I am sure most of the planet knows, and once you have achieved a certain level of fitness you are then in a position to focus on the core areas most important to you. I was not actually aware of just how out of shape I was / am, but it has really emphasised to me how important a regular exercise routine is.

Personal Trainer Belinda Evans will hold you accountable to achieve your fitness goalsHave you ever decided one fine day, whilst sitting at your computer doing whatever nerdbox stuff you do, that, “oh, I am dreadfully out of shape!” Have you ever had that thought?

Well, one fine Autumn day, I had that thought. It was prompted by my wife dropping a hint to the effect “You’re not really in the shape you used to be” or something along those lines. She has been seeing a personal trainer for several weeks now, and I have to admit that whatever they are doing, it is getting results for her that I honestly can’t complain about. She has more energy, doesn’t huff or puff much any more, and most importantly, the slinky outfits she use to wear, she is wearing again.

So, here I am … Continue reading »
