When Travelling with Children; Consider Baby Panodol

It can be done, travelling with children that is; but I wouldn’t recommend it; not to anyone unless you have a bottle of Baby Panodol to drug them with.

Before you go crying foul, for the record I don’t mean drug them literally, but, that’s what Baby Panodol is, a drug of sorts, although the manufacturers would rather call it something else, whatever it is.  This all relates to Life BC.  Continue reading »

Is this Insomnia?  I get some sleep but not enough.

For the past few years I’ve been waking up at 3am, sometime 3:30am no matter what time I go to sleep at night.

It’s weird.  I don’t know why.  It’s pissing me off. For some reason my eyes snap open in the wee hours of the morning, my mind starts going, and it is basically game over. I’m awake for the day.

By 10am that morning, I’m exhausted.  This will sound funny to some, stupid to others, but I hope there is someone who doesn’t laugh; It’s almost as if someone is playing games with my Is it sleep.

Is this Insomnia?  Technically I get some sleep; but it’s only ever 3, 4 or 5 hours. Before moving to Brisbane, Australia, I was use to 7 or 8 hours solid sleep.  Then I’d wake and power through the day.  Now, it’s as if I’m always running on empty.  I’m am now officially sick of it.   But there is no way I’m going to take pills just to knock me out.

I can’t figure it out.

Sleep tight.

What is SOPA?

SOPA is what the big media corporations have always wanted; and it is what they have been working towards for more than a decade.  SOPA makes someone else take responsiblity for enforcing copyright owners rights; and forces smaller organisations who do not have the resources to respond to accusations of copyright infringement; into a policing roll where they have no choice but to comply with the directives of the larger media orgainisations.

It sounds like a hair brained computer geek conspiracy theory doesn’t it.

But it isn’t …

It’s SOPA and Protect IP - the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Bills currently before US Parliamentary Congress; and it is due to be passed into legislation and become law very soon. Continue reading »

The Graphics Card Genie and a Dead NerdBox

Ever Killed a Computer?

Every computer geek has a story about the most stupid thing they have ever done to a computer; often making you wonder at the intelligence level of those people. However, some of the stories, usually the most entertaining, boarder on idiocy. You may even consider Electric Shock lunacy but some computer geeks think nothing of it.

This is my story. It is the stupidest and most bewildering computer experiences I’ve ever encountered; and it happened to me a few days ago.

Setting up a computer the other day, I was came across a cheap 9800GT I had laying around and had never put to use. It was actually the most powerful graphics card I had at the time and I was itching to get my dollars worth out of it.  Continue reading »

Hay House Writers Workshop in Melbourne Hay House Writers Workshop. Hay House Writers Workshop

Just got back from the Hay House Writers Workshop in Melbourne.

Hay House was started by author Louise Hay as a Self Help type publishing house more than 20 years ago. Lots of aspiring authors would love to be published by Hay House because of it’s reputation in the Self Help community.

Funniest thing about this conference, I got the impression that its far more viable an option to self publish than it is to be tied to a publisher.  You loose a lot of your rights as an author when you sign up with a publisher.  And, its just as much work. However, when you want to start publishing internationally, I guess you need the experience and backing of an established publisher. Continue reading »

which direction are you headed1 Which direction are you headed?

Sometimes you feel like your life is going round and round.

Don’t you wish they gave you a compass and directions when you’re born; a nice little instruction booklet or something.   A case manager perhaps.

I takes a hell of a long time to figure it all out on your own.

But, anyway; I really like this picture.

I just wanted an excuse to post it.

There you go.

Isn’t it a nice picture.  And if you click on it you get all these search results around typing thrown up  at you. Typing is very important in life.  That is until I can get a USB port installed in the back of my head and save all the tedium of manual data impute.  Till then, Colemak it is.

knuckles over steeringwheel Driving Consumes You

Image Stolen from Net

Driving Consumes You

Vulcanised rubber whirs over black asphalt tar tacks, fingers and callused knuckles gently cradling a steering wheel.
The window is down, dizzy air trespassing in personal space, whipping hair onto skin.
An aggressive swish buffets the ride, momentary silence, quickly banished with the whirring tread of hard vulcanised rubber, again brushed away with swish after swish as cars whiz by to unknown destinations.
Eyes peer over knuckles, hypnotised with heat over the straight stretch beyond.

Are we Human Beings or Spiritual Beings?

I read a quote recently. It interested me.

We think that we are human beings having a spiritual experience here in earth; but

What if we are Spiritual Beings have a Human Experience here on earth?

By Belinda Grace

in her book You are Clairvoyant.

Interesting huh, and, really, how do we know otherwise?

Have fun

I heard a quote recently:

Who you are is God’s gift to you; who you become is your gift back to God.

I can’t get it out of my head.

I’m not specifically religious, but think about it. Everyone is busy trying to become what they aren’t, trying to improve on what they were given when they were born in the belief that it will make them more acceptable to those they deem as perfect or more desirable

Make Space in Your Life

Today I received an email from my Reiki Master Leisa Millar as part of her monthly newsletter.  She talked about making space in your life so that other things may have room to enter.  You may think that this, in our materialistic object focused society sounds silly.  Many people have adopted the accumulation mindset.  Accumulate wealth, accumulate possessions, accumulate power and so on and so forth.

The idea of creating space in your life is not a new one, in fact it is as old as history itself, but I feel that we as a western (Anglo Saxon) culture have lost sight of the true meaning of what this means.

This is what Leisa said word for word: … Continue reading »

hands of psychometry Psychometry for the faint hearted

Hands are used for psychometry

Everyone Can Do Psychometry

Recently I ended up sitting in a bedroom in a circle with a group of people all interested, for one reason or another, in tapping into their higher selves and developing what is commonly referred to as psychic abilities.  The term psychic is a bit of a misnomer used by many as a catch all phrase for what they think is the supernatural.  This is incorrect, I found, because psychic ability is but one type of intuitive or higher self skill that can be used for gathering information about Continue reading »

Greens Bob Brown Why Should I Vote Green

Vote 1 - The Greens

Why Should I Vote Green in 2010?

This is why Peter Hallam is voting Green in the 21st August 2010 Australian Federal Election. You may like to consider this too. If you aren’t in Australia, or for that matter an Australian, do look into the policies you local Greens Party Candidate is promoting, and that of the Local Greens Party in your country. You may be pleasantly surprised. They are a real, stable, viable alternative to traditional conservative political parties.

Taken in its entirety from HERE, but it says it all.

  1. The Greens stand up for what’s right, not just what’s easy. Whether it’s protecting the environment, introducing universal dental care, opposing the war in Iraq or advocating for refugees to be treated humanely, the Greens are driven by values, not polls. Continue reading »
